Monday Morning QBing

Monday Morning QBing

A few thoughts from this weekend…

1.  The Dallas Cowboys HAVE to get a new RB.  I love DeMarco Murray, but he is too fragile for full time play in the NFL, and nobody else on the team can run the ball.

2.  Megatron is pretty damn good.  As if that is news.

3.  I hear CBS is finally reporting actual news.  Welcome to journalism.

4.  What happened to the ObamaCare girl?  I surmise the young lady is in witness protection.  No doubt hiding from some Sebelius-concocted scheme to blame her for the entire website failure.  Poor girl.

5.  Coast Guard, Maryland State Police, and DHS Do their Best KGB Imitation.  What was the Coast Guard there for?  Good thing we have DHS to protect us from those dangerous and legal potato guns.

6.  Isn’t it cute, how all the European Politicians are upset NOW that it came out that the NSA was spying on one of them.  Funny thing is, these governments all knew that the NSA was spying on them, they knew because they are spying on the US.  Nixon and Obama are notoriously paranoid, but they aren’t unique amongst politicians, just famous.

** As a side note, I’m feeling particularly grouchy today, the pain has been aggravating for the past couple of days.  Anyway enough whining for me today.  😀  Stay safe and Be Good.

Don’t Vote

aurorawatcherak

My anarchist friends insist that the solution to our governance problem is just to stop voting. They see voting as force. If 51% of the voters (which may only be a tiny fraction of the population) votes for something or someone, it forces the 49% (and how every many didn’t vote) to accept the outcome of the election. They don’t consider that to be freedom.

To a certain extent they are right. When 63% of the Fairbanks community (in an election where almost 70% of registered voters actually showed up) voted to deny the borough (like a county) the authority to regulate home heating devices, we were forcing our opinions on the 37% of those who disagreed. A slim number of that 37% went to the State of Alaska to demand that it clean up the air quality in Fairbanks (which, by the way, is not that bad) and now…

Friday Freakout (25 Oct 13)

Friday Freakout

Friday Freakout

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius said earlier this week “I don’t work for the people calling for me to resign…”

It seems poor Ms. Sebelius who has not had a real job in literally in decades (by real job I mean not working for the government) has forgotten who it is she works for, she works for….

we, THE PEOPLE

I know the idiots in the tower think they are above us mere mortals,

who struggle to make a living,

worry about our families and our country,

and try to live our life as kindly, courteously, and honestly as possible.

It is far past time to make a point to the idiots in the tower,

that the should NOT loot the treasury,

hook up their buddies,

and generally make a mess of things.

Now I am not some political pundit or history expert who is going to quote things said by one person or another, tbh I don’t give a flying falcon’s feathered butt about what some dead dude said about something, I care about what is here and now, and what is right and wrong.

Sebelius works for the president,

and the President works for US.

Sebelius screwed up, EPICALLY

she needs to retire,

she is 65,

and no doubt far richer than the average American,

I would love to see her brought up on charges of corruption and incompetence,

a mountain of money went into building the ACA website,

and for it to fail so badly is rather pathetic.

This is the exact reason why so many people are not wanting the government to take over health care, the amazing level of incompetence.  Anyone who wants government-run health care, needs some serious (mental) health care.

Thursday Thoughts (24 Oct 13)

Thoughtful Wolf

Thoughtful Wolf

Here are a few thoughts for today….

— Kathleen Sebelius has completely failed in her leadership role at HHS with the ObamaCare website.  She needs to be fired.

— Speaking of ObamaCare, has a crack appeared in the Congressional Democratic wall of support?  It seems a few of the Democrats are wanting to delay the implementation of ObamaCare.

— Alan Grayson has completely lost what little bit of respectability he has with his latest attempt to fund raise, sending out e-mails with a burning cross labeled Tea Party.  While Mr. Grayson is probably certifiable and definitely undesirable, we do have to wonder what happened to his medicine and think that perhaps it is time to up the dosage.

— Has the Obama administration become Nixon part 2?  Rampant incompetent spying on everyone and their uncle, inability to manage the most simple of projects, and of course complete and total denial of reality.  Perhaps comparing this administration to Nixon’s is just too nice, a good comparison can be made to a certain dictator who ended his days (as leader) in an underground shelter, completely oblivious to the outside world’s harsh realities, while their PR people continued their “Pie in the Sky” happy assessments of the situation.

Secession movement in California gains steam.  The state of Jefferson?  Probably not, but there are some who would like to see southern Oregon and Northern California join together.

Why doesn’t the Left trust the law-abiding poor to own guns?

poor

Why doesn’t the Left trust the law-abiding poor to own guns? That question leapt to mind after reading a recent piece in Nonprofit Quarterly by my friend Rick Cohen, who hails from the Left and, on other issues, has long demanded respect for the denizens of poor neighborhoods.

His article rightly scoffed at officials at a public school in North Carolina who had the brilliant idea of providing their sixth-graders with an “enrichment exercise” that consisted of sending a man in a ski mask into classrooms with a toy gun and pretending to rob the kids.

Rick repeated a crack by the website Progressive Populist that it’s a good thing no teacher pulled out a concealed weapon to shoot the fake bad guy. That could have happened “if the National Rifle Association has its way,” because those crazies at the NRA published a report this year “calling for arming and training teachers…
