First thing I wanted to discuss this morning was the famed Old Farmer’s Almanac. I have you heard of this venerable publication? It was first published in 1792, and is the oldest continuously published periodical in the United States. More importantly the Farmer’s Almanac is 80 to 85% correct when predicting weather. That is far better than the much better funded National Weather Service, or your local weather person. Needless to say, good intel is nice to have. If you are a nosy bastard like me, and want to know how the heck they do that, well I have that answer for you too, and sadly it is not nearly as satisfying as I would hope, but here it is…[link]
As a side note, I would like to heartily thank, Ajit Pai, one of the FCC’s commissioners. He was the gentleman, who first went public with the FCCs fascist plan to place an overseer in each and every newsroom in America. Nothing scary there. Mr. Pai, bravely weathered the silent storm of pressure, and still did the right thing.
The XXII Winter Olympics ended yesterday, and without a major incident, congratulations to all of the participates, and a hearty thank you to the people of Russia for their graciousness, as hosts of the Games.
